Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Salary: £37,935 per annum + 25% shift allowance (£47,418) + overtime
Location: Radway Green
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Manufacturing Technician. The role will be based at Radway Green just outside of Crewe and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern (please see details below).
The company works at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries.
You will be joining the Manufacturing team who operate on a 3 shift rotating system, working 37 hours per week. The 3 shifts are as follows:
* Monday- Thurs: 8 hours per shift
* Fridays: 5 hours per shift
Overtime is also available at a 25% enhancement rate during the week and a 60% enhancement rate at the weekend.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensuring processes are maintained and operated in a safe manner and escalate issues affecting safety within the given production area
* Ensuring that work undertaken adheres to relevant quality standards and provides support in the implementation of quality improvement projects
* Operating of manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements
* Supporting implementation of continuous improvement activities
* Identifying, raising and implementing solutions to safety, quality and production problems

About You:
Essential:
* A time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment (minimum NVQ Level 3)
* Experience of working within a fast paced production environment whilst conducting planned maintenance work
* Experience in the setting and operating of manufacturing plant and equipment
* Experienced in fault finding with root cause, corrective and preventative activities
Desirable:
* Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
* Experience with pneumatic and automated systems
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
