Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN Primary School (Coventry)

Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm)

Weekly Salary: £450 to £475

Contract: Temporary (opportunities to go perm)

We are looking for a motivated and caring Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN primary school in Coventry. This full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm) offers an exciting opportunity to work with pupils aged 2-11 who have a range of complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

As part of a dedicated and nurturing team, you'll provide 1:1 and small group support, helping children engage in learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Some pupils may also require support with aspects of personal care, so flexibility and a compassionate approach are essential.

This role would suit a graduate with an understanding of psychology and child development, and a strong interest in special educational needs. You'll gain valuable hands‑on experience within a well‑resourced and inclusive setting that prides itself on supporting every child to thrive.


Requirements

* A bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related subject (or equivalent relevant experience)
* A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils


Key Responsibilities

* Supporting teaching staff with lesson delivery and classroom activities
* Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
* Encouraging engagement and participation in learning
* Monitoring progress and offering constructive feedback to staff
