As a HGV Mechanic you will be responsible for being the senior fitter maintaining all aspects of our HGV fleet both on a responsive and preventive maintenance basis. You will work to high levels of health and safety to carry out all tasks in line with business needs, mentor other staff members where needed and assist the Workshop Manager with all aspects of HGV duties. Duties will include: Inspect a wide ranging and varied mix of LGV/HGV and Light Commercial vehicles to VOSA MOT standards, diagnosing and rectifying all associated faults Other duties to assist with operational demand Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully in line with current H&S policy Liaise with parts department to attain parts Attend breakdowns and carry out roadside assistance (During season) Drive an motivate workshop staff to a high standard Experience/Qualifications National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Driver CPC qualification Excellent communication skills at all levels towards colleagues and clients Positive, proactive, and can-do attitude Experience with a low loader, highly desirable The ability to organise work on own initiative and work under pressure Experience of welding, hydraulic systems and electrical systems. Ability to work as part of a team Reasonable standard of computer literacy
