Job Summary
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Locum Dermatology Consultant to join our team in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of dermatological conditions, providing expert diagnosis and treatment, and contributing to multidisciplinary care planning.
Main Duties
* Clinical Management: Provide expert care across a broad range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory skin disease.
* Procedural Work: Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and minor surgeries in line with needs.
* Teledermoscopy: Manage a dedicated teledermoscopy caseload, ensuring timely and accurate remote assessment of skin lesions.
* Clinical Leadership: Offer guidance and support to junior staff, contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions, and help shape service development.
* Documentation & Governance: Maintain accurate clinical records and to governance, safety, and quality standards.
* Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across specialties to ensure integrated and patient‑centred care.

Person Specification
* Essential Qualifications: Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice; MRCP or equivalent; Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
* Desired Qualifications: Relevant higher degree (MD, PhD, MSc); On Specialist Register or eligible for CCT within 6 months; Or portfolio pathway (CESR) or equivalent European qualifications
* Essential Clinical Experience: Broad experience in Dermatology; Knowledge of UK hospital systems; Participation in CPD; Competence in Dermatology
* Desired Clinical Experience: NHS experience; Research or training in subspecialty services; Evidence of above‑average performance; Additional clinical qualifications
* Essential Clinical Governance: Participation in clinical audit and understanding of its role in practice improvement
* Desired Clinical Governance: Knowledge of risk management; Familiarity with annual job planning and appraisal review processes
* Essential Research: Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence to improve outcomes
* Desired Research: Initiating, progressing, and concluding research projects with publication; Research degree
