As we continue to strengthen and develop our customer service and support, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Support Engineer to join our team.
The Role
As a Support Engineer, you will ensure our customers’ systems operate reliably and efficiently. You’ll provide responsive technical support, diagnose issues, and deliver proactive maintenance both remotely and on-site. This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role suited to someone who enjoys problem‑solving and building long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional technical support to customers
* Troubleshoot and diagnose faults with AV, control, networking, and security systems remotely and on‑site
* Carry out proactive maintenance visits to ensure systems are updated and performing optimally
* Manage and maintain customer service contracts
* Maintain clear and accurate service documentation
* Escalate complex technical issues to the Lead Engineer when required
* Preprogram equipment ready for site installation to aid the field engineers where necessary
* Represent the company professionally at all times
Required Skills & Experience
* Prior experience of programming Control4 systems
* Strong networking knowledge, ideally with experience in DrayTek, Araknis Networks and Ruijie Networks
* Experience working with Hikvision CCTV (or similar) and intercom systems
* Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
* Willingness and ability to travel regularly to customer sites
* Programming experience with Lutron systems
* Experience with Rako lighting control
Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures
* Ensure safe working practices at all times, both on‑site and in the workshop
* Carry out dynamic risk assessments before commencing work
* Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where required
* Report hazards, incidents, and near‑misses promptly
* Ensure tools, equipment, and company vehicles are maintained in safe working order
* Follow site‑specific Health & Safety requirements and client protocols
Salary & Benefits
* Salary from £28,000 to £40,000 per annum (subject to experience)
