Operations and Maintenance Supervisor
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Operations and Maintenance team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd. working 40 hours per week on a 2-shift system at our Thornton facility.
What youll be doing
The Operations & Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant daily operations at the facility. The role supports the Operations & Maintenance Manager by driving performance, maintaining compliance, and promoting continuous improvement. Serving as a key support to the Operations & Maintenance Manager, this role actively contributes to achieving operational targets, driving continuous improvements, and maintaining rigorous budgetary control over operations and maintenance functions.
What you will bring
Whilst training and development opportunities are provided and encouraged for our roles, the following skills and knowledge are desired:
* Completion of an apprenticeship and/or experience within mechanical maintenance or a mechanical bias.
* Experience and proven ability in the waste processing industry or similar processing environment.
* Experience and proven ability in Supervisory / Management position.
* Proven ability to effectively manage and lead operational or maintenance activities, resources and costs.
* In depth working knowledge of waste processing machinery, infrastructure, and process systems.
* Highly organised and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Knowledge of working within safe systems of work.
* Report writing, presentation and effective communication.
* Financial management.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others.
* Strong ICT skills particularly with the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
* Business system awareness:
* Computerised Maintenance Management System (e.g. CMMS).
* Financial Systems (e.g. Iplicit).
* SharePoint Services.
* Time Management System (e.g. TMS).

Who are we?
Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract.
Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.
Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.
