Hourglass Education are working with aa academy based in South East London who are looking to appoint a Teacher of Business & Economics from January 2026. The academy cater to a vastly vibrant 3-19 aged student community. Accessible by fantastic rail and bus transport links, the academy's stunning working environment is within a purpose-built school.
As an all-through academy, staff at all levels belong to a strong, cohesive team working with the Executive Principal and the wider SLT team. The successful candidate will:
1. Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
2. Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice), ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school
3. Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
4. Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor
5. Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
