Duty Solicitor | Criminal Defence Team – Full Time
I’m working with a highly regarded law firm who are looking to appoint an experienced Duty Solicitor to join their established Criminal Defence team. This is a great opportunity for a solicitor seeking real responsibility, excellent support, and a varied caseload.
The Role
* Provide representation at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts.
* Manage a diverse criminal caseload including theft, assault, drugs, domestic violence, and public order offences.
* Deliver strong advocacy in bail applications, pleas, trials, and sentencing hearings
* Build and maintain trusted client relationships while ensuring compliance with LAA requirements
The Candidate
* Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a valid Practising Certificate
* Duty Solicitor Accreditation essential
* Strong advocacy skills with proven criminal defence experience
* Able to manage a demanding caseload independently
* Willingness to participate in a 24/7 duty rota
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Extras
* Higher Rights of Audience (Criminal)
* Knowledge of legal aid billing/case management systems
* Additional languages or youth/prison law experience
