Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility located in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with various needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. It reflects the New Care vision of delivering exceptional safety, comfort, and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful program of daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with comprehensive induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We have maintained a zero agency staff record for over four years by employing a permanent team to ensure continuity of care from staff who know and residents trust. Across New Care, all staff are paid at least the national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team. The role involves working with the Head Chef to ensure high-quality food service that supports residents' needs and contributes positively to their experience in the home. The position offers a 40-hour contract with an hourly rate of £12.75. Shift times are 07:30-17:30, with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure menus are presented and displayed clearly, allowing residents to understand and make daily choices about their meals.
* Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, medical, ethnic, and personal preferences.
* Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, and served in a timely manner and proper sequence.
* Follow and adhere to company HACCP standards, ensuring full compliance.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and serving areas, uphold infection control standards, and comply with the Food Standards Act 1999, including record-keeping.
* Manage and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
* Inspire and motivate the team to produce food to high standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and dinner services.
* Experience working in a care home or similar environment.
* Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
* Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu.
* Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
