ABOUT VENTURE CAFÉ GLOBAL INSTITUTE (VCGI) & VENTURE CAFÉ LONDON
Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI) started in 2009 within the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) in Massachusetts, aiming to connect people, ideas, and resources globally. Now, it has grown into a worldwide movement, facilitating over 750,000 connections among innovators, creatives, and leaders across cities like Boston, Berlin, and Tokyo. VCGI's mission is to drive global change by building a community of communities focused on solving humankind’s biggest challenges. Venture Café London will launch in Q2 2025 alongside strategic partner ARIA. We partner with organizations evolving business, education, technology, social justice, science, and the arts within London and beyond. Our flagship Thursday Gathering convenes hundreds of creative, resourceful people invested in improving life on this planet.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK
We seek a curious doer to join our team to coordinate impactful programs for our community of innovators at the Thursday Gathering. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Coordinating programs and speakers before, during, and after the event.
2. Setting up and breaking down events, managing program partner bump-ins and outs, and setting up the Venture Café Kiosk and signage.
3. Coordinating local Venture Café Ambassadors.
4. Sharing learnings and supporting relationships between Venture Café London and its global counterparts.
5. Identifying and mitigating risks to the event's effective operation.
6. Collaborating with the ARIA team to ensure a delightful experience.
7. Providing excellent hospitality, engaging community members, and enforcing the Venture Café credo in a friendly but firm manner.
ABOUT YOU
You have a background in event management, creativity, and flexibility, driven by a passion for mission-driven work. Your skills include customer service, problem-solving, attention to detail, and experience in executing innovative event experiences. You should also:
* Have 1-3 years of professional event experience.
* Be fluent in English.
* Possess great hospitality skills.
* Be familiar with social media channels and able to leverage them.
* Be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
* Be legally able to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
