We are currently seeking an experienced Commodity Manager to join us at our site in Spondon, Derby on a hybrid basis.

As a Commodity Manager you will be responsible for creating and implementing commodity strategies, including identification and development of vendors, analysis of portfolios and contracting.
In this role you will take on responsibility of leading and supporting a small team of Buyers to sustainably optimise total acquisition costs at both regional and global levels.
You will look after a small number of major supplier accounts, taking on responsibility for commodity strategy, supplier contract agreements as well as tactical, operational Purchasing tasks around PO’s and resolving supplier issues.
You will work predominantly within the Machining and Fabrications commodity profile working with suppliers based both locally around Derby and the Midlands and globally with suppliers in India.
About You
You will have a minimum of 5 years of sourcing experience within a technically demanding environment, including significant experience in establishing, driving and developing supplier relationships. Experience of developing and implementing Commodity strategies is also essential.
Additionally, you will be an experienced negotiator able to demonstrate how you have established long-term contractual agreements.
You will have proven experience of managing a small team for a number of years.
Ideally, you will have previous experience working in either an aerospace, defence, automative or pharmaceutical environment in a Purchasing role.
You will be CIPS qualified or currently working towards.

* Starting salary between £49,000 and £51,000 depending on experience.
