About the Role
As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will support children and young people with disabilities within a residential short breaks setting. This role involves working directly in the home, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties, providing consistent care and supervision throughout a child’s stay.
You will:
1. Support children with personal care, daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
2. Promote independence and life skills at a pace appropriate to each child
3. Work creatively to provide fun, engaging, and meaningful activities both inside and outside the home
4. Support children with communication needs, sensory processing, and emotional regulation
5. Maintain a safe and nurturing environment through positive risk management
6. Complete household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping alongside the children
7. Work closely with families and professionals including social workers, schools, health professionals
This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, resilient, and motivated to support children with additional needs in a residential setting.
