Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is a unique and dynamic high school nestled at the base of the Darling Ranges situated 40km from Perth. As an Independent Public School, Armadale SHS seeks to aspire, strive and achieve in all areas of performance, student engagement and academic achievement. The Role

Armadale SHS is seeking a highly-motivated and knowledgeable Head of Learning Area (HoLA) – Humanities & Social Sciences (HASS) to join our dedicated Senior Leadership Team.

The HoLA will work closely with staff and students to inspire a passion for the HASS, making use of their excellent organisational skills to lead high-level curriculum management and model a positive approach to student learning. As a curriculum leader, the successful applicant will provide professional leadership to a team of experienced teachers and motivate them to promote an environment of active and positive learning, that enables students to achieve their highest potential.

Ideally, having knowledge and experience in leading others to effectively support student engagement, the successful applicant will utilise their strong interpersonal skills to implement a culture of excellence within the HASS learning area. With considerable experience of the WA Curriculum, the HoLA will lead the implementation of innovative and engaging teaching and learning programs through assessment review, school and system data analysis as well as effective curriculum differentiation. Applicants who have the ability to provide strong instructional leadership to staff, and who have experience in developing Senior School HASS courses, are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant should continually drive improvement by providing strategic, inspiring and supportive leadership that is proactive and conducive to growth.
