Your new role
This role is for an experienced teaching assistant familiar with supporting students with additional needs. You will help integrate the student into the classroom, encouraging participation suited to their abilities. Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the child in the classroom
* Supervising during playtimes and classroom activities
* Identifying triggers to prevent difficult situations
* Collaborating with teachers and professionals regarding the child's care
* Providing feedback to parents/carers
* Monitoring and recording achievements
* Building a trusting relationship with the pupil
* Ensuring the child's safety and supporting self-care tasks
* Implementing strategies for managing impulsive behaviors and sensory needs
* Working closely with the SENCO and staff to create a supportive learning environment
What you'll need to succeed

* Have experience working with young people with SEN
* Be calm and rational
* Understand ASD and similar conditions
* Be available for half-day sessions long-term
* Possess a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
* Have a strong passion for education and supporting young people
