Assistant Information Manager
An opportunity has arisen for 2 Assistant Information Managers to join Volker Rail based in Doncaster.
Key duties
* Support delivery of Information Management (IM) requirements on projects, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and company procedures.
* Assist in the implementation and management of Common Data Environments (CDEs), including Asite, Teams, and SharePoint.
* Contribute to digital workflows, system improvements, and adoption of IM best practices across projects.
* Work closely with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, compliance, and timely issue escalation.
* Pre-contract: Support bids, IM planning, and development of key documentation (e.g., BIM Execution Plans, Digital Plans).
* Mobilisation: Assist with project setup, including IM plans, roles/responsibilities, training, and CDE configuration.
* Design & Delivery: Manage and quality-check information, ensuring accurate, compliant sharing and coordination via the CDE.
* Close-out: Support handover of project information, records management, and digital archiving in line with policies.
* Assist with IM reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement activities on projects.
* Supervise and support team members where required, contributing to capability development and knowledge sharing.
* Maintain professional development and promote a culture of high standards, collaboration, and innovation.
About you
* Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
* Additional qualification in Information Management, ICT, or Computer Science (e.g., HNC) is desirable.
* Proven experience in document control, with some exposure to Information Management in multi‑disciplinary project environments.
* Experience using Common Data Environments (CDEs) is essential.
* Ideally has experience within the construction or rail industry.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage workload and priorities effectively.
* Demonstrates attention to detail and a conscientious approach to work.
* Able to use initiative and problem‑solving skills to overcome challenges.
* Committed to continuous learning and professional development.
* Full UK driving licence is desirable.
