As the School Receptionist, you will manage the school office, answer incoming calls and emails, greet visitors, and provide administrative support to staff. Key Responsibilities Greet parents, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to emails promptly Maintain accurate pupil and staff records, ensuring confidentiality Manage the signing-in and out process for visitors and contractors Support general administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and data entry Assist with communication to parents and staff regarding events and notices Help organise school events, meetings, and appointments Support the leadership team and office staff as needed Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, GDPR, and school procedures Maintain a welcoming, tidy, and professional reception area The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Have previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally in a school Be friendly, approachable, and professional at all times Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be highly organised, reliable, and proactive Be confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems Be able to work independently as well as part of a team Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children The school is located in Birmingham, with excellent transport links and a supportive, friendly community.
