----------------------------------- About the Role Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker (Grade 11) to join the 14+ Team on a temporary basis to provide maternity leave cover. This role offers the opportunity to support young people aged 14+ as they transition towards independence, education, training, and adulthood.
Team working days are based across Ty Catrin (Pontypridd) and Cynon PO (Trecynon), within a supportive and experienced service.
----------------------------------- What You’ll Do
* Deliver high-quality, person-centred social work practice to young people aged 14+
* Complete statutory assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures
* Support care-experienced young people with pathway planning and preparation for independence
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, education providers, and multi-agency partners
* Maintain accurate and timely case records and contribute to reports as required
* Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for young people
----------------------------------- What We’re Looking For
* A qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
* Registered with Social Care Wales
* Experience working with adolescents, care leavers, or 14+ services (desirable)
* Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills
* Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
* Commitment to safeguarding and corporate parenting responsibilities
