Technical Director

Role Context:

This vacancy is for a Technical Director to work on contaminated land assessment and remediation projects based in one of our London locations. However, the role could possibly be based out of one of our other UK offices for the right candidate.

This is full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position and will be part of our Remediation, Decommissioning & Geotechnical practice. The successful applicant will work with our clients bringing technical leadership to the successful delivery of projects, whilst working closely with existing Technical Directors in our UK and Global offices.

This position would suit an ambitious individual with 15 years plus relevant professional experience, who is looking to further advance their career in the environmental consultancy sector and contribute to the continued success and further growth of Worley Consulting.

You'll be:

Core Responsibilities will include the following:

1. Technical leadership, project direction and project management, ensuring high levels of technical quality and operational performance.
2. Lead and participate in the identification, pursuit and winning of contaminated land and decommissioning consultancy opportunities, as well as successful delivery of projects.
3. Demonstrate exceptional Safety Leadership on your projects and within your team.
4. Client relationship management, including regular contact with decision makers and influencers in key customer accounts.
5. Leadership and line management of high performing teams, including responsibility for mentoring and training of staff.
6. Work with Worley Consulting business development teams and Client Relationship Managers to identify client needs and opportunities both as stand-alone work packages and as a component of larger Worley Consulting pursuits.
7. Collaborate with Global Worley Consulting technical networks and interface with other regional offices and teams in North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

You'll have:

Knowledge and experience will include the following:

8. Experience in delivering contaminated land assessments in the UK and overseas.
9. Demonstrable experience in the design and management of contaminated land remediation projects in the UK.
10. Business development and client management skills.
11. Experience of managing and leading high performing teams.
12. Presenting, analysing and interpreting data.
13. Ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
14. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
15. Ability to write clear, concise reports and think logically and clearly.
16. Demonstrable significant project and contract management experience.
17. Evidence of continuing professional development.
18. Familiarity and experienced with several forms of contract desirable.
19. Subject matter expertise in contaminated land assessment and remediation, decommissioning and engineering project execution.
20. Proven business development experience and ability to form enduring client relationships.

Qualifications:

21. Candidates should be educated to degree level (Master’s preferred) in a relevant discipline (. Geology, Applied Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Consultancy, Geochemistry).
22. Chartered status.
23. SiLC (preferred).
