We are looking for an experienced clinical pharmacist to deliver and lead a high quality and patient‑focused clinical pharmacy service to the infectious diseases and adult critical care specialties. The Trust has a 14 bed specialist infectious diseases unit and a 66 bed adult ITU unit.
To be considered, you must proactively engage with clinicians and the wider specialty multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality medicines optimisation, governance and safety initiatives. You will support patient flow for both in‑patient and out‑patient areas, working effectively as a key member of the team in these dynamic clinical specialties.
Working closely with clinicians, nursing staff and the directorate management team, you will ensure the delivery of evidence‑based, safe, cost‑effective pharmaceutical care to patients treated within the specialty, whether as inpatients or as outpatients. You will lead the clinical pharmacy service to the inpatient ID ward and to the Critical Care unit, working closely with a team of rotational pharmacists and medicines management technicians. You will also collaborate with the department of clinical microbiology to support the trust’s antimicrobial stewardship activities.
In addition, you will contribute to the strategic development of the clinical pharmacy service provided to the relevant divisions by supporting the Advanced Clinical Lead Pharmacists, the Deputy Chief Pharmacist – Clinical services and the Clinical Director of Pharmacy.
