This role is not sales-focused but offers an opportunity to be the principal technical advisor and ‘voice of the customer’ to organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.
The Role
As a Cloud Operations Architect, you will help craft and execute strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of AWS services, including EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, CloudFront CDN, IoT, and others. Your technical expertise and customer-facing skills will enable you to effectively represent AWS within a customer’s environment and lead discussions with senior leadership on incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
You will provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices and proactively maintain your customers’ AWS environments. Building close relationships with your customers will help you understand their business and technical challenges and assist them in maximizing AWS value. This position may require travel of 10% or more as needed.

About AWS and the Support Team
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth across various customer segments, including public sector. The AWS Support team partners with leading companies building mission-critical applications on AWS and believes world-class support is vital for customer success.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Advise on solutions, provide technical guidance, and advocate for customers.
* Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy, reducing cost and complexity.
* Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges.
* Lead technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management with technical and executive stakeholders.
* Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services, and Sales teams.
* Proactively identify opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
* Provide detailed reviews of service events, metrics, and pre-launch planning.
* Assist customers in migrating workloads to the cloud and solving related problems.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years of technical engineering experience.
* Experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting in at least three of the following: compute, storage, networking, CDN, databases, DevOps, big data, security, applications development in distributed systems.
* Bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with AWS or other cloud services.
* Experience as a technical lead in enterprise or customer-facing environments.
* UAE Citizen (Emirati).
