This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal Town Planner to take on a senior leadership role within a growing consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping project strategy, managing clients, and supporting the growth of the business. THE ROLE As a Principal Town Planner, you will lead and oversee a range of planning projects from early-stage strategy through to submission and determination. You will take a proactive role in client engagement, provide high-level planning advice, and mentor junior team members, positioning yourself as a key figure within the business as a Principal Town Planner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Leading and managing complex planning applications and projects • Providing high-level strategic planning advice to clients • Acting as a key point of contact for major clients and stakeholders • Overseeing the preparation of planning reports and documentation • Managing and mentoring junior team members • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key consultees • Driving business development and identifying new opportunities • Supporting the overall growth and direction of the business WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline • MRTPI qualified • Extensive experience within a planning consultancy environment • Strong leadership and project management skills • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing abilities • Proven track record in managing complex projects • Strong commercial awareness and business development skills WHAT’S ON OFFER • Competitive salary and benefits package • Opportunity to take on a senior leadership role • Work on a wide-ranging and high-quality project portfolio • Supportive and collaborative team environment • Clear progression opportunities at a senior level Interested?
