About This Role
We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Locum Consultant ENT Surgeon to join our well‑established, dynamic team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a unique opportunity to develop and lead a comprehensive benign head and neck and diagnostic ENT service while being part of a forward‑thinking department that delivers high‑quality surgery to sub‑specialty levels.

While your primary focus will be developing and leading our benign head and neck and diagnostic ENT service, you’ll be supported by Southampton’s specialist head and neck team, giving you the best of both worlds – clinical leadership with expert backup.

Main duties of the job
1. Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients and A&E.
2. Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary care.
3. Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team.
4. Work with colleagues to provide a consultant‑led service with the highest standard of care.
5. Work with the multi‑professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
* On Specialist Register for ENT if applying for Consultant post.
Experience
* Experienced in elective ENT surgery.
* Experienced in managing elective outpatient caseloads.
* Experienced in supervising junior doctors.
Skills
* Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and all levels of staff.
* Teaching/presentation skills.
* Management skills or qualification.
