Siroma Ltd is a flavours and chemical blending company. We create and manufacture flavours for the food, beverage and e-liquids markets. As part of your role, you will work in the development laboratory working on projects to develop new liquid flavours for the food, beverage, tea and e-liquids industries. You will also work in manufacturing, making product to send to customers. Experience gained in both the laboratory and manufacturing will contribute to the Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship Programme (Level 3). Key accountabilities: Laboratory work – developing products and samples: Assisting the head of technical in developing new products for customers Collecting the raw materials needed in the formulation Mixing chemicals to make simple formulations Setting up tasting samples, to test with the head of technical Assisting in quality control testing methodologies Cleaning equipment and utensils as you go Replenishing laboratory stocks Booking couriers for samples made. Manufacturing flavour and chemical blends: Assisting the head of technical to collect the raw materials needed on the batch sheet Assisting the head of technical to work through the batch sheet to weigh and blend chemicals Filtering final products before packing and labelling At the end of production, storing the raw materials in the correct locations in the warehouse Cleaning manufacturing equipment to food industry standards. Additional accountabilities: Goods in (taking deliveries), labelling & stock control Maintaining high levels of hygiene and housekeeping, operating ‘clean-as-you-go’ practices Completing daily, monthly and quarterly checks / audits The training you will be getting Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship standard, including: Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours End-Point Assessment.
