The Role

We have fantastic opportunity for an Maintenance Technician to join us at our manufacturing site in Wantage, Oxfordshire. As Maintenance Technician you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient running of our plant, equipment and facilities.

What will you be doing?

As an Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring our production processes and equipment run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

* Play a key role in keeping production equipment and processes running safely, efficiently, and reliably
* Carry out routine, preventive, and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment
* Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and complete effective, high‑quality repairs
* Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and support production
* Support engineers with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
* Contribute practical ideas to continuous improvement projects and design reviews
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, drawings, and technical documentation
* Work safely at all times, following site procedures and regulatory requirements
* Take part in risk assessments, permit‑to‑work activities, and safety improvement initiatives
* Carry out equipment inspections and proactively report defects or hazards
* Work closely with operations teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
* Assist with planned shutdowns and scheduled maintenance activities
* Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and cross‑functional teams to support day‑to‑day operations

* You’re flexible in your approach and able to respond positively when priorities change or urgent issues arise
* You have a natural curiosity and an interest in finding small ways to improve reliability and efficiency over time


What competencies will you need?

* An awareness of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems, with a willingness to continue learning on the job
* A practical approach to fault‑finding, with the confidence to work through equipment issues calmly, effectively and efficiently
* A good appreciation of safe working practices, including permit systems and risk control in industrial environments
* A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work well alongside engineering, maintenance, and production teams
* An organised approach to work, with the ability to plan maintenance tasks and adapt when urgent priorities arise
* Comfortable keeping accurate records and using technical drawings and manuals to support your work
* Basic to confident computer skills, including working with maintenance systems, standard office applications

An interest in continuous improvement, with any experience in lean methods, reliability, or process improvements seen as a bonus rather than a requirement
