There is an exciting career opportunity for a highly motivated and suitably experienced nurse to join the Lung Team at Guy's Hospital.
The post holder will be expected to have experience in Lung Cancer.
The post holder will be keen to extend their knowledge and clinical skills to become a Macmillan Lung Cancer CNS.
A high level of communication skills are key to being successful in this role.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work within a team and autonomously when needed
Main duties of the job
Support the Lung Department to ensure a safe, high quality, smooth running service to give the best possible experience to patients.
Support the Lung Team to ensure a safe and supportive working environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ultimately manage a caseload of patients and provide advice, support and expertise through investigations, diagnosis and treatment.
The post holder will work along with the multidisciplinary team whilst delivering personalised care.
Maintaining relationships with patients and colleagues is essential and providing specialist advice and knowledge.
Support the Matron with team management and personal development reviews of junior staff.
Engage with audit, internal governance procedures and external quality assurance processes to maintain a quality assured service.

1. Degree
2. Lung Oncology experience
Knowledge

3. Understanding of the Lung programme
4. Experience of working autonomously within the specialty or similar
Desirable criteria
5. Experience of patient history taking and physical examination

6. Registered Nurse, registered with NMC
