Salary details: Grade 5, £27,758 (inclusive of shift allowance, pay award pending.)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week

Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) is preparing to relaunch, and as part of its commitment to deliver a safe, secure and customer focus environment for all airport users we are seeking to highly motivated and proactive female and male Ground Security Officers to be part of our security team. The role will help to implement effective operational security functions in accordance with the Airport Security Programme.
About the Role
The role will work as part of the security team to ensure full compliance with Airport Security procedures for all airport users. Working as part of an operational security team who uphold the highest standards of safety and service across the airport estate.
The postholder will play a key role in safeguarding passengers, staff and assets supporting the Ground Security Supervisor in the delivery of key security functions/activities which are key in supporting airports operational and commercial objectives.
Successful candidates will be provided with the full training to enable them to carry the role. They will be required to successfully complete the UK Department for Transport (DfT) GSO Course annually. Additional qualifications such as Behaviour Detection, Airside Driving, First Aid, and Health & Safety may be offered in line with operational requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing operational security functions across all areas of airport security, including check points, terminal, airside, landside, and perimeter operations. Core responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Supporting in maintaining a safe, efficient and compliant operation by adhering to security procedures, quality programmes and contingency plans.
* Conducting day-to-day security checks, ensuring the efficient and secure screening and searching of passengers, baggage, supplies, staff, vehicles, surveillance and patrols.
* Provide an efficient, safe, compliant and customer focused experience to all airport users.
* Conduct surveillance duties utilising fire monitoring, CCTV and intruder detection systems whilst maintain logs and report incidents accordingly.
* Responsible for completion of regulatory required operational security documentation and operational incident reporting.
* Ensure all mandated screening ratios and associated records are achieved, and where concerns are identified, these must be escalated to the GSS.
The successful Candidate:
As part of the role, the successful candidate must be able to meet and maintain the following requirements:
* Successfully pass all required security background checks and counter‑terrorism security clearances (ongoing reviews apply).
* Pass a colour‑vision assessment (one‑off assessment).
* Have good general health, reasonable strength and no physical incapacity which would prevent them from undertaking the normal range of aviation security duties.
