Role Overview: As an Assistant Engineer, you will provide comprehensive engineering support for the Steriles Business Unit to meet business and regulatory needs, managing all engineering activities related to production processes.
In this role, you will...
* Supervise the Engineering Technician team and manage shift handovers, ensuring effective communication across shifts, and stand in for the Engineering Team Manager as needed.
* Serve as the first point of escalation for breakdown repairs and building services issues, prioritizing activities aligned with business needs.
* Prepare, review, and track Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, manage plant spares, and support local projects including new product launches.
* Complete and manage GMP safety and quality documentation, including PM and Quality Deviation Reports, engineering change controls, and audit actions within deadlines.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, meet EHS & Quality objectives, and oversee equipment upgrades and obsolescence.
* Supervise contractors, ensure GMP compliance, manage SAP vendor data, and engage stakeholders for accurate contract management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Basic:
* HNC in Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Recognized Engineering apprenticeship
* Significant industry experience post-apprenticeship
* Experience with GSK processes and procedures
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams in complex environments
Preferred:
* Experience in classified areas (ISO 5 or ISO 7)
* Engineering Degree or progressing towards one
* Leadership or team support experience
* Subject matter expertise in engineering
* Experience managing engineering projects
