Attractions Manager
Location: Liskeard, Cornwall. Permanent, Full-Time. Salary: Circa £45,000 with excellent benefits package.
The Story of Emily is a living museum and immersive visitor attraction set in the restored grounds of The Rectory, former home of Emily Hobhouse. The attraction explores her life and humanitarian legacy, offering a thoughtful interpretation of the Anglo‑Boer War and its wider social and cultural impact.
This senior, hands‑on role in a distinctive heritage setting requires leadership, judgement and curiosity. The Attractions Manager will oversee daily operations, lead and develop the Welcome and Museum Host team, and shape visitor experiences, programming and interpretation, ensuring historical integrity is maintained.
We are looking for a confident, guest‑focused manager with experience in museum, heritage or visitor attraction management. The role requires handling operational detail, inspiring teams, engaging visitors through storytelling, and contributing to exhibitions, events and interactive experiences. A strong knowledge of South African history is required; additional training will be provided where needed.
Applicants should be degree‑educated, fluent in English and Afrikaans, and have experience managing a high‑quality visitor attraction. Organisation, attention to detail and the ability to balance revenue growth with educational and historical value are essential.
This is a full‑time, permanent role (40 hours per week, flexible including weekends). Accommodation support and UK visa sponsorship are available for the right candidate, along with a generous benefits package.
