As a Swissport Airside Team Leader, you will play a vital role in our airport operation. You will motivate, engage and inspire staff to deliver the best possible service as well as maintain excellent relationships with customers and authorities.

The following responsibilities are associated with this job role:
1. Supervise/allocate tasks including reporting absences and overtime.
2. Plan and deploy resource to ensure rosters meet customer and operational requirements
3. Develop an open feedback culture by managing the performance of employees and ensure workplace standards are maintained
4. Ensure compliance with all Swissport corporate safety and security procedures in order to meet/exceed regulatory standards deliver the desired customer service experience
5. Maintain up-to-date manuals and documentation as required
6. Build and maintain relationships with customers and Airport Authorities
7. Encourage consistency and collaboration by ensuring clear communication at all levels. This will include staff briefings, shift handover meetings, one-to-ones and completion of relevant reports
8. Ensure compliance with Swissports SOPs and policies
9. Ensure maximum efficiency in the operation of inbound and outbound flights
10. Resolve conflict and irregularities and take appropriate action
11. Responsible for maintenance of assigned equipment and materials
12. Contribute/assist with local emergency plans
13. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
14. Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
15. Ability to speak and understand the English language
16. Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
17. Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
18. Willingness to work in inclement weather
19. Able to work in a manual environment and lift up to 32kg throughout a shift if required.
20. Able to work as part of a team in a challenging environment
21. Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired
22. Experience of leading teams
23. Excellent organisational and planning skills
24. Excellent oral and written communication skills
25. Proficient in Microsoft Office
26. A full driving licence
CAREER PROGRESSION
27. Satisfactory completion of three years continuous service typically
28. Attainment of competency in all basic, intermediate and advanced tasks and duties
29. Understanding and acceptance of the requirement to undertake additional duties and responsibilities associated with the seniority of this role
30. Demonstrating competent supervisory skills and / or attending the relevant supervisory skills course(s)
