Job Overview
The PDS plays a critical role in delivering specialised as well as routine dental services to Fife residents, while still meeting the needs of the ageing population and reducing oral health inequalities.
As the Public Dental Service adjusts and continues to lead change, we are looking for experienced Dental Nurses who make patient care their first priority and thrive working with a number of different patient groups. In return, the PDS provides an exciting and challenging working environment with access to first‑class training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities
As a GDC registered Dental Nurse holding the national qualification, you will provide first‑class chair‑side dental care for children and adults. It is ideal if you are up to speed with the practical application of the SDR and are familiar with R4 Clinical+.
Qualifications
* GDC registered Dental Nurse with the national qualification.
* Experience providing chair‑side care to children and adults.
* Knowledge of SDR and R4 Clinical+ preferred.
* Must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
* Have the right to work in the United Kingdom, or be eligible for sponsorship. Suitable evidence (e.g., visa, settled or pre‑settled status) must be provided before application.
Working Hours
From 1/4/26 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. An hourly rate increase will offset the reduced hours so pay will not be affected. Please note the salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Flexible Working and Support
We offer flexible working and family‑friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long‑term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
