About The Role
Role Location – Hull, HU8 7DS
Our Category Supply Manager provides the link between Marketing, Procurement, R&D, and the supplying organisation. The role works on projects typically spanning 1‑10 years, defining the supply strategy and monitoring implementation until launch recommendation. Working closely with Technical, Packaging, Engineering, and Activity Management, the manager ensures all supply milestones are considered and leads sourcing studies to determine the most optimal short‑, mid‑ and long‑term supply chain, balancing cost and complexity.
Responsibilities
* Lead supply feasibility assessments for new product developments (NPD) and existing product developments (EPDs), coordinating activities with R&D, Global Marketing, Procurement, and factories to determine sourcing options, preliminary cost of goods (COGs), CAPEX, and supply project timelines.
* Ensure COGs benchmarks are available based on other sourcing locations or similar products during early feasibility, and routinely update COGs/CAPEX assumptions as the project progresses.
* Input supply timelines into the end‑to‑end global project CPS (owned by PPM).
* Ensure stakeholders have visibility of project timelines and drive key supply milestones to ensure on‑time delivery.
* Support local single‑market NPDs/EPDs endorsed by CGO.
* Keep NPD/EPD volume data updated so that Category RCCPs can be revised accordingly.
* Provide supply input into key innovation documents: Innovation Development Brief (IDB), Project Lockdown, Innovation Packs (IP), and Launch Recommendations (LR).
* Maintain the supply category trackers and other project reports and tools as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven track record in project management, ensuring timelines and milestones are delivered on‑time.
* Understanding of basic product development, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing processes.
* Team player with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
* Track record of improving supply chain processes and systems.
* Solid analytical skills to review data, present findings and make business decisions based on that data.
* Ability to work independently and make decisions.
* Experience with risk mitigation strategies.
* Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a fast‑paced environment.
* Degree in science or engineering with a manufacturing background is advantageous.
