Graduate Power System Analysis Engineer
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Power Systems Analysis Engineer to work at Aurora Power Consulting in their Bristol office, to help strengthen their electrical team.
The role will be primarily desk based, with the need for occasional site visits. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and have studied a number of power systems analysis modules, ideally with a focus on power systems in their final year project.
This role entails carrying out various power system analysis simulations on industrial and renewable networks, to consider loadflow analysis, fault level analysis and dynamics and transients analysis. Candidates should ideally have been exposed to simulation software such as DIgSILENT, ETAP, ERACS, PSS/E etc. Any experience with EMT simulation programs such as PSCAD would be an advantage.
Essential Characteristics
The following characteristics are essential for all applicants:
MSc, MEng or equivalent in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of power systems analysis and theory.
Some experience with a power system analysis software packages such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM, etc.
Understanding of simple power system studies such as loadflow and short circuit analysis.
Desirable Characteristics
The following characteristics are desirable, but not essential for all applicants:
Experience with PSCAD, or similar EMT program
Some experience within industry, such as an internship
PhD or equivalent
