About the Role
We are currently looking for a Technologist to join our clients Cell Expression Systems R&D team in Cambridge, to contribute to the execution of analytical activities for multiple projects.
Core responsibilities include:
6. Assist with sample analysis to generate data for decision making across multiple projects with other senior analytical scientists
7. Perform sample purification, product quantification and product quality analysis including but not limited to PrA HPLC, SEC, CE-SDS and icIEF
8. Solution preparations - including analytical buffers, media and feed where required
9. Monthly mycoplasma testing
10. General lab housekeeping e.g. stock checks, instrument calibrations when required
11. Work closely with multiple R&D teams to deliver solutions or improvements in recombinant protein manufacturing
12. Maintain accurate and timely records to appropriate quality standards
13. Actively keep aware of relevant academic literature
14. Contribute ideas and opinions to aid the development of new methods and/or technologies
15. 85% lab-based role using experience and knowledge
Key requirements:
16. Previous practical experience in an analytical laboratory with a focus on protein characterisation, with aseptic practical experience
17. Knowledge and practical expertise in chromatography and electrophoresis techniques (e.g. ProA HPLC, SEC, CE-SDS) in the field of protein characterization
18. Knowledge of affinity purification techniques
19. A good general background in established analytical methods in the industry, including the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches
20. Previous practical experience in an analytical laboratory with a focus on protein characterisation
