Teaching Assistants Required – PRU Settings Across Blandford Forum, Poole & Colehill (Wimborne)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) with sites in Blandford Forum, Poole, and Colehill (Wimborne), who are seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join their teams across multiple provisions for September.
About the Provisions
Poole - Secondary Provision
This setting supports secondary-aged pupils who present with quieter, more internalised needs, including:
* ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)
* BSNA / EBSA (Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance / Avoidance)
* Anxiety-related needs
* Classes are small, with up to 10 pupils, supported by one teacher and one Teaching Assistant.
* Pupils have a wide range of abilities across the curriculum, so strong academic confidence is essential.
A good knowledge of Maths and English is required, with Science knowledge highly desirable, in order to support pupils working towards GCSE qualifications.
Blandford Forum - Secondary
This site supports pupils with more externalised behavioural needs. Students may present as louder, more outspoken, and more challenging in their communication and behaviour.
Successful Teaching Assistants will need to:
* Build quick, positive, and trusting relationships
* Remain calm and consistent
* Use strong behaviour support strategies
* Encourage engagement and participation in learning
This role would suit someone confident, adaptable, and experienced in working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
New Colehill Site (Wimborne) (Primary & KS3)
This exciting new provision in Colehill, Wimborne will support Primary and Key Stage 3 pupils.
Most Teaching Assistant roles here will be classroom-based, supporting pupils with both academic and pastoral needs. There may also be future opportunities to support within:
* Cooking
* Science
* Practical interventions
The site will also offer:
* Forest School
* P.E. interventions
* Sensory support programmes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
