Role
We are looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer passionate about water, drainage, and infrastructure to join our wastewater‑led team in Derby. You will support surface water and wastewater network design, provide technical oversight, and contribute to projects from feasibility through to delivery.
Responsibilities
* Build experience by supporting a wide range of wastewater and surface water management projects, contributing to the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
* Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to tackle key challenges such as reducing Combined Sewer Overflow spills and mitigating flooding risks.
* Contribute to integrated water management solutions focusing on sustainability, climate resilience, and protecting communities.
* Use digital tools and data‑driven approaches to challenge conventional methods and drive innovation across the water and infrastructure sectors.
About You
* A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* A genuine interest in civil, water, and environmental engineering.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
* Working towards, or interested in pursuing professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
