I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong culture and excellent proposition. This is a newly created, exciting role working with a high-performance global team. The CRO has a strong reputation, stable client base, and a track record of year-on-year growth. You will be supported by a respected commercial team and some of the best clinical experts in the industry, joining an organization with a collaborative culture.
This is an individual sales contributor role, remote, working from home, focusing on the UK/western European territory. Responsibilities include securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device companies across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in this region, selling full-service CRO solutions.
Your role will include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Creating and implementing business development strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to establish a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFPs from potential clients
* Utilizing Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities
* Leading and managing the sales process for generated and received leads
* Leading proposal development to ensure strategy, budget, and timelines meet client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Providing input to marketing strategies
* Developing sales targets, strategies, and plans with leadership
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource securing
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Collaborating with research staff to maximize selling opportunities
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate business opportunities
