Full-time Learning Support Officer
We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our passionate team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support to access learning and develop life skills. You will work under the guidance of teachers and the SEN team to deliver tailored support both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN, including complex needs and behavioural challenges.
2. Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
3. Support learning activities across various subjects, adapting materials where needed.
4. Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
5. Help students develop social skills, independence, and self-confidence.
6. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour where required.
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers.
Requirements:
8. Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting (essential).
9. Understanding of complex needs, autism, ADHD, and behavioural support strategies.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Resilience, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
12. Ability to adapt to changing situations and student needs.
13. Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
