This is a hands‑on role where you will be exposed to multiple sides of the business, working closely with experienced engineers and gaining real insight into how industrial charging and power‑conversion products are developed, tested and improved. The position offers valuable practical experience with high‑voltage systems, automated testing, and a broad range of laboratory equipment, making it an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their electronics career.
You will support the R&D team by carrying out tests on industrial charging systems, building and modifying test fixtures, assembling cables, and working from electrical diagrams to create and maintain test setups. You will also develop your skills in Python or LabVIEW to support the creation of automated test scripts used in both development and production environments. Alongside the hands‑on work, you will prepare clear documentation and reports, helping to support quality, reliability and ongoing product improvements.
To succeed in this role, you should have a solid technical background in electronics or electrical systems and be comfortable following structured procedures within a safety-focused environment. You should be able to interpret circuit diagrams, operate laboratory test equipment, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop new technical capabilities, particularly in areas such as test automation, will support your effectiveness in the role and help you progress professionally. Experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, thermal chambers or high‑voltage systems would be useful, but there is a significant opportunity to learn these skills on the job.
This is an on‑site position based in East Kilbride and comes with a competitive salary and benefits package. It would suit someone who enjoys practical engineering, problem-solving and developing through hands‑on experience in a collaborative R&D team.
Key qualifications required for the role:
A technical qualification in electronics or electrical engineering
Relevant experience in an electronics or electrical test environment
