Overview
Priory Hospital Bristol is looking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist Male PICU/Medical Director to join the team. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. As a Consultant Psychiatrist Male PICU/Medical Director, you will be accountable for, but not exclusively limited to, the following areas of responsibility.
* Lead the recruitment, induction, and probation of doctors in line with company policies, ensuring compliance with training requirements, specialist registration, and practising privileges for visiting consultants.
* Oversee medical staff appraisals, revalidation processes, and performance management, taking decisive action on any behavioural or clinical concerns in collaboration with the Hospital Director and HR.
* Provide strategic and operational leadership as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), ensuring healthcare policy, clinical governance, and best practice standards are effectively implemented and maintained.
* Ensure effective medical cover across all levels, including robust arrangements for out-of-hours and annual leave, to guarantee safe and consistent service delivery.
* Lead on clinical investigations, complaints, and crisis management, working closely with the Group Medical Director and Clinical Director to resolve issues and drive improvements.
* Contribute to continuous learning by overseeing complaints, incidents, benchmarking, and service user feedback, ensuring lessons are embedded across the hospital.
