Job Overview The PETCT Service Manager provides a managerial and highly specialist technical service role to the Trust in order to deliver a safe, highly specialised diagnostic patient service. This is a part time role of 22.5hours a week; ideally split over 3 days a week. There is a need to be part of the clinical team twice a week, with one day a week dedicated to admin work relating to managing the service. The role is the point of contact for queries from the PET admin team and Nuclear Medicine staff who may have clinical queries. The role needs to work closely with the Service Manager of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT. It requires a flexible work ethic to ensure smooth running of the service throughout its operational hours Monday to Friday. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities The Service Manager is responsible for supporting the management of the day to day PETCT service. This includes arranging staff rotas, patient bookings, radiopharmaceutical provision, patient administrations, daily equipment QC and equipment selection Management of the service includes continuous improvement and development of the service through the quality system, which is registered to ISO 9001:2000. The post holder has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the PETCT service team. The post holder is the lead trainer in PETCT and is responsible for ensuring the team has been adequately trained in their duties including use of equipment, handling radioactive material and basic life support as well providing appropriate structured training for new staff or trainees in the field of PETCT. This role will work closely with the Service Lead for Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT, the Head of Nuclear Medicine, Technologists and Radiographers in PET and the PET admin team. The post holder must be a registered Radiographer or Clinical Technologist. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Knowledge of PET CT clinical role Desirable criteria Leadership courses/experience Clinical details Essential criteria Contrast knowledge and use of Desirable criteria Knowledge/ reference to range of PET CT scanning eg Brain, body, research, PSMA Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration. The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
