Role Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a community-based integrated service. The post holder will provide a high standard of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adults with a wide range of needs, including complex physical, psychological and neurological conditions.
This is a highly autonomous role within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting patients to maximise independence, improve functional outcomes and promote self-management in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a specialist caseload of patients with complex physical, psychological and neurological presentations.
Complete comprehensive functional assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
Deliver rehabilitation programmes focused on independence, safety and quality of life.
Work autonomously in line with HCPC standards and professional codes of conduct.
Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues within the wider MDT.
Supervise, educate and assess students in partnership with local universities.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service reporting.
Support service delivery through effective time management and prioritisation.
Promote best practice and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Essential Requirements
HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Significant post-qualification experience, ideally at Band 6 level or equivalent.
Experience working in community or rehabilitation services.
Confidence managing complex caseloads independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone and email.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience working with neurological conditions.
Knowledge of integrated health and social care pathways.
Experience using electronic patient record systems (e.g. Rio).
Previous involvement in student supervision or mentoring.
