The Opportunity
A well-established and growing legal practice in North Manchester is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its busy Housing Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with at least 12 months' file handling experience to further develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with experienced solicitors on a varied caseload, gaining hands-on exposure to a wide range of housing litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with and managing your own caseload of housing litigation matters under supervision
* Handling possession proceedings (including Section 8 and Section 21 claims)
* Supporting on landlord and tenant disputes, including rent arrears and breach of tenancy
* Drafting legal documents including witness statements, pleadings, and correspondence
* Preparing court bundles and liaising with courts, clients, and third parties
* Conducting legal research and assisting with case strategy
* Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures
Requirements:
* Minimum 12 months' experience in a litigation role, ideally with some file handling exposure
* Previous experience in housing litigation or landlord & tenant matters is highly desirable
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* A proactive and commercially aware approach
