Machinist/Toolmaker\n\nAn exciting opportunity has become available for a full time, experienced Toolmaker to join a small and friendly Toolroom team. This role involves the manufacture and maintenance of form and cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures to support production in a high-security manufacturing environment.\n\nThe Toolroom is equipped with a range of manual and CNC machinery, including wire erosion. While all new tooling is supported with fully dimensioned technical drawings, a solid understanding of tooling functionality is essential.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Manufacture, repair, and maintain press tools to precise engineering drawings and tolerances.\n\n * Operate a variety of manual and CNC machinery including milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.\n\n * Perform routine servicing and regrinding of tools.\n\n * Verify conformity of machined and/or repaired tools to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments.\n\n * Investigate and report root causes of equipment breakdowns and faults.\n\n * Ensure all work meets high-quality standards and complies with relevant quality regulations.\n\n * Ensure all tooling is safe, functional, and production-ready before return, following correct preventative maintenance (PM) procedures.\n\nEssential Skills & Experience:\n\n * Skilled in the use of precision hand tools.\n\n * Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.\n\n * Experience operating Toolroom machinery and equipment (e.g., milling machines, lathes, surface grinders).\n\nThe Ideal Candidate:\n\n * Brings a flexible and proactive approach to teamwork.\n\n * Capable of working independently without supervision.\n\n * Comfortable working in an environment where projects may be shared or passed between team members due to workflow demands.\n\nSalary: Up to £18 - Can be higher for the right individual
