Mental Health Nurse – Acute In-Patients

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity to join the Adult Acute Mental Health Ward at Redwoods Centre Shrewsbury. Laurel Ward is a 16-bed, mixed-gender, adult acute admissions ward providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illness in working-age adults.
We welcome both newly qualified nurses and experienced practitioners. If you are newly qualified, we will support you during clinical practice and offer a trust preceptorship program. We currently have 1 x full-time position and 1 x 22.5-hour position available in the team.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver a high-quality clinical service to patients and their families.
* Act as named nurse for a group of patients under supervision and with continuing responsibility.
* Participate in therapeutic group work programmes.
* Assess care needs, contribute to formulation of the person’s needs, and develop a relevant plan based on negotiated goals and evidence-based interventions.
* With the multidisciplinary team, provide nursing interventions to help patients meet their goals, and coordinate and/or participate in reviews of progress using recommended outcome measures, involving the service user and any identified carer throughout the clinical process.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on NMC Register.
* Experience as a nurse.
Experience
* Experience of providing care and interventions within a health setting including specialist mental health settings.
* Experience of working in a variety of healthcare settings and making decisions autonomously.
