The role
Project Manager
Cumbria / Manchester
Up to £95,000 + Car Allowance + Living Away Allowance
Leading UK Main Contractor
Opportunity
Are you a Project Manager ready to take ownership of a major education development that will have a lasting impact on its community?
A leading UK main contractor is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a substantial new-build school development in Cumbria.
As Project Manager, you will oversee the scheme from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion. The development will be delivered in phases to minimise disruption to pupils and staff, making stakeholder management, programming and logistical planning central to your role.
Candidates do not need to live locally. The working pattern can include three to four days on site and one to two days at the Manchester office, with living away costs supported where overnight accommodation is required.
Responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will lead the site team, take ownership of the construction programme and maintain strong working relationships with the client, consultants, school representatives and supply chain.
You will coordinate design, commercial, operational and health and safety activities while ensuring the project meets its quality, programme and financial objectives. The Project Manager will also manage phased works around a live education environment, identify project risks and create a positive, accountable site culture.
You will need proven experience as a Project Manager delivering major new-build projects for a main contractor. Education-sector experience would be advantageous, particularly where projects have involved live environments, complex logistics or phased handovers.
What’s in it for you?
This Project Manager position offers a salary of up to £95,000, a car allowance and additional living away allowances where required.
You will lead a high-profile regional development with the autonomy to shape its delivery and build your reputation within a financially secure, forward-thinking construction business. The contractor actively supports professional development and long-term career progression, giving a successful Project Manager a clear route towards more senior operational leadership.
Application Process
If you’re ready to bring your experience in project management to a forward-thinking company, we want to hear from you. Apply today, and we will contact you within 3 working days if your application has been shortlisted.
