TheLead Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for leading a teamof three infrastructure engineers and the technical implementationand maintenance of the organisations services and infrastructureencompassing both onpremise and cloudenvironments.
This role entails provisioningdeploying and sustaining systems to align with business needs andwill utilise your knowledge communication skills and experience toprovide our customers both internal and external with outstandingservice and support.
This is a hybrid role andwill require travel to our Head Office in Billericay at least onceper week; you will also be required to travel to all other GCLocations including field sites as needed.
Thisis a fulltime position and the successful applicant will berequired to join the teams shift pattern to ensure core businesshours (8am 6pm) are covered; you will also be expected to providestandby outofhours support on a rota basis.
Principle AccountabilityAreas:
* Play a pivotalrole in the design build and management of the onpremise servers(Windows) virtualisation (HyperV) and our cloud infrastructure(Azure). This includes working on both physical and virtualhardware.
* Ensuringscalability reliability and security of our infrastructure andcollaborating with cross functional teams to meet businessrequirements.
* Monitoringand maintain the performance and availability of our infrastructureincluding regular maintenance such as patching andupdates.
* Implementing andmaintaining security measures to protect our infrastructureincluding ensuring compliance with industry standards andregulations.
* Leadinginfrastructure projects from initial scoping tocompletion.
* Ensuring ournetwork and infrastructure documentation is grown and kept up todate for team reference andaudit.
* Reporting oninfrastructure performance incidents andimprovements.
* Ensuring dayto day BAU tickets are picked up in a timelymanner.

Aboutyou:
* Demonstrableknowledge and experience with infrastructure includingVirtualisation (HyperV or similar) physical servers (windows) andstorage.
* ProficientWindows ServerAD DNS DHCP Failover manageretc.
* Demonstrableexperience with implementation of backup maintenance (Veeam orsimilar)
* Experience withon prem data centre maintenance andmanagement.
* DemonstrableAzure Management (CMs NSG rules Storage accounts etc) to be abletoe effectively contribute to gradual migration of our environmentsto the cloud.
* Excellentdemonstrable hands on experience configuring and maintainingnetwork devices such as Firewalls (Palo alto/Cicso ASA) SwitchesWiFi and Routers.
