Birmingham Airport is seeking a dedicated Infrastructure Maintenance Technician to join our Terminal Infrastructure Team. This hands-on role is vital to maintaining the airport’s extensive Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) infrastructure, supporting systems such as HVAC, lifts, escalators, and more. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our terminal facilities, improving passenger experience, and supporting our sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out planned, remedial, and reactive maintenance on a wide range of M&E assets.
• Ensure asset availability and compliance using our Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Respond promptly to infrastructure faults and escalate or reassign tasks where necessary.
• Assist and supervise external contractors, ensuring safe and effective service delivery.
• Support inventory control and stock management for essential tools and parts.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to maintain safe and efficient airport operations.
Experience Required:
• Hold a recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification relevant to the role.
• Experience working independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.
• Good understanding of Word, Excel, and general IT systems for reporting and communication.
• Previous experience working with HVAC systems, motors, automatic doors, and similar infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors, departments, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to undergo ongoing training and adapt to emerging technologies and systems.
