Job Description:
We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a NRS Primary Care Network Coordinator for the North East Node, hosted by NHS Grampian.
This post is to manage the North East Node of the NRS Primary Care Network and to help meet the primary care objectives of Grampian Clinical Research Delivery Centre (CRDC). The network aims to facilitate the development and delivery of high-quality research relevant to primary care. The post holder will provide comprehensive research support for researchers and primary care professionals, including community nurses, pharmacists, GPs, dental practitioners, and allied health professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of eligible studies, acting as the main contact for researchers, and advising on feasibility and remuneration.
* Facilitating practice and professional recruitment into studies, achieving local targets, troubleshooting recruitment issues, and developing strategies to increase participation.
* Working with primary care teams across Grampian, Shetland, and Orkney to identify and invite eligible NHS patients for studies.
* Maintaining an accurate regional database of research activities, practices, and professionals.
* Providing primary care inputs into the strategy, delivery plans, and progress reports of the Grampian CRDC, working closely with the CRDC Coordinator, and participating in relevant meetings.
* Championing clinical trial recruitment in primary care, presenting progress, resolving challenges, and increasing awareness and participation across the region.
You will be part of a national team of five regional nodes, collaborating on national studies and sharing expertise.
Qualifications and skills required include:
* Postgraduate degree in a scientific, clinical, or project management field.
* Extensive healthcare experience with relevant competencies.
* Understanding of research and audit processes.
* Knowledge of GDPR data privacy regulations.
* Excellent communication, time management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Access, Edge, and other computing skills.
* Ability to work independently and interact effectively with a wide range of staff, including GPs and practice managers.
* Approachable, enthusiastic, reflective, reliable, and respectful attitude.
* Understanding of Good Clinical Practice and its application in research.
* A valid driving license and access to a car for travel across various locations.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Knowledge of quality assurance issues.
* Experience with commercial and non-commercial studies or transferable project management experience.
* Ability to work across organizational boundaries.
* Understanding of primary care settings, staff workload, and priorities.
* Knowledge of remote data searching and healthcare data linkage and transmission.
