Role: Environmental Health Manager
Location: Chorley
Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: £51,356 - £52,413 (plus 6% car allowance)

Are you a driven and experienced Environmental Health professional ready to lead a high-performing team? We're looking for an Environmental Health Manager to play a key leadership role in delivering vital public protection services and improving environmental standards across our communities.

What you will be doing
* Leading and supporting the Environmental Health team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service
* Overseeing a wide-ranging service covering housing, public health, food safety, environmental protection and community safety
* Managing day-to-day operations, ensuring workloads are prioritised and performance targets are met
* Making informed decisions on enforcement action and overseeing complex investigations and legal cases
* Providing expert advice on planning, licensing and environmental impacts
* Driving service improvements and delivering projects aligned to corporate priorities
* Managing budgets, resources and external contractors to ensure value for money
* Working closely with partners to safeguard vulnerable residents and support wider community outcomes
Who we’re looking for
* A qualified Environmental Health professional with strong technical knowledge
* Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Confident in managing enforcement activity and complex casework
* A strong communicator with sound judgement and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
* Committed to delivering high standards and making a positive impact in local communities
