Context
SYSTRA is hiring an Architectural Technologist based in York, Leeds, or Manchester. Following the success of multiple landmark international projects, this is an exciting time to join SYSTRA’s Buildings Team as we expand our presence in the UK & Ireland and globally. Our focus on delivering passenger stations, rail depots, and energy-from-waste projects within the Architectural team makes us a key discipline in this leading transport design consultancy.
Main Duties
The Architectural Technologist is responsible for technical coordination of various design packages under the guidance of the project Principal Architect. Responsibilities include technical development and delivery of design packages ensuring compliance with project standards and client requirements.
* Produce designs, drawings, schedules, and calculations; manage junior colleagues in delivery; take responsibility for assigned tasks and coordinate supporting staff.
* Coordinate multi-disciplinary design solutions during Technical Design, Construction, and Handover stages (Work Stages 4-8).
* Review and critique design information to ensure high-quality output.
* Work towards project delivery targets within current engineering and safety standards, on time and within budget.
* Use industry-standard CAD software (REVIT) competently.
* Lead and manage in-house architectural staff, multidisciplinary designers, and architectural partners to meet client, project, and business needs.
* Visit project sites as required, with support from senior team members.
* Provide technical assistance to site personnel.
* Lead or proactively participate in project meetings.
Profile/Skills
* CIAT or RIBA accreditation (various levels considered).
* Motivated team player, works well under pressure, engages with colleagues.
* Proactive, solution-oriented approach.
* Experience in multi-discipline design coordination and delivery for complex projects.
* Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT and BIM modelling principles, including clash detection.
* Desirable: experience in Middle East projects and knowledge of RTA & Saudi Building Codes.
* Desirable: experience in complex transportation projects.
